How much zakat do I have to pay?

Zakat is 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth (cash, bank balance, gold, silver, investments and business stock, minus debts due) if it stays above Nisab for one lunar year.

Is zakat due on gold jewellery?

According to the Hanafi school followed by most Pakistanis, zakat is due on gold and silver jewellery at its current market value. Other schools differ on jewellery worn regularly.

Is zakat deducted automatically from bank accounts in Pakistan?

Banks deduct zakat on savings accounts on the first of Ramadan unless you submit a zakat exemption declaration (CZ-50). Account for any amount already deducted when calculating the rest.
